You are a good candidate for dimple surgery if it is important for you to have a dimple on one or both cheeks if your general health is suitable for undergoing surgery, and if you follow the doctor's instructions carefully.

How long should you stay in the hospital after the surgery?

Overnight stay not required, half an hour.

Patients should avoid smoking, Aspirin, or Ibuprofen, herbal supplements, and fish oils two weeks prior to their dimple surgery

After the local anesthesia is applied, doctors use a small biopsy instrument on the cheeks to manually create a dimple. A small amount of muscle and fat is removed from the hole created. The area is about 2 to 3 millimeters in length. Once the surgeons create the dimple, they position a suture from one side of the cheek muscle to the other. The suture is then tied to set the dimple permanently in place.

After the procedure, patients may have mild swelling, and they can apply cold packs to reduce swelling, but it will usually go away on its own within a few days. Most of the patients can return to work and other daily activities two days after a dimple surgery.

Patients should be aware of these risks and complications before undergoing dimple surgery:

  • Anesthesia risks
  • Infection
  • Bleeding
  • Hematoma
  • Injury to vital structures
  • Delayed healing

There are also some side effects associated with dimple surgery including:

  • Infection
  • Pain
  • Discomfort
  • Asymmetry

According to reviews of the patients who underwent dimple surgery, the success rates are around 90%.

Dimple surgery is a safe and reliable procedure. With this procedure, the patient satisfaction rate is very high, and patients who have seen it a long time after surgery continue to be pleased with their surgically created dimples.

What is Dimple Surgery?

Getting dimple surgery helps to have dimples in one or both cheeks surgically, and this quick and low-risk procedure generally provides high patient satisfaction.

Is Dimple Surgery Painful?

Dimple surgery is a simple and safe outpatient cosmetic surgical procedure. If it is performed by an experienced and skilled surgeon, there will be no severe pain after the surgery. Mild pain can be eliminated with the help of prescribed painkillers.

When Can I See the Final Result of My Dimple Surgery?

The dimple created may look a little odd in the first three to four weeks after surgery, but then it gains a natural look and enhances your beauty.
